DJ Johnny Fingers (real name John Arroyo) grew up in Dallas
Texas listening to electro, punk rock, new wave, and hip-hop.
By High School he had been turned onto funky breaks and techno
and then by senior year began getting hooked on house music.
Through some DJ friends and various raves (like the hazy daze
parties) his listening and DJ focus shifted to deep, chicago,
& acid house. By the time he graduated he had DJ'ed at various
lounges, clubs and raves in the Dallas area.

From Tejas he moved to Pittsburgh for college where he majored
in electrical engineering and minored in fine art (and some
elctronic music studies thrown into the mix). After a few
years he became the most requested DJ on campus. He was spinning
once or twice a week at various house parties, gallery openings,
clubs & even the occasional rave. Studying and making music
music in Pittsburgh was a blast for Fngers. He got to really
experiment with sound and controlling the dance floor. His
work in Pittsburgh also greatly influenced the wackier side
of his spinning and productions. Collaborating with the artists
on campus allowed him to explore the experimental sides of
rhythm. Not to mention, Jerry's records and the local thriift
shops were a crate diggers' dream!

He moved to New York City at the beginning of 2001
and has lived there ever since. It has become his new home
and scene to throw down beats. He's spun at numerous lounges,
clubs & bars in the city and has been spinning amongst some
of NYC's finest talent. Currently his rotating parties with
his partner in crime, Aaron Schumm, and various other DJs
include the Red Pepper Sessions and Broken Home parties which
have been well recieved in the city. Along with spinning in
NY, he has had the opportunity to spin mulyiple times in various
countries in Europe.

Along with his DJn and dance music
productions he has been involved with the art scene a bit.
Fingers completed musical compositions for a conceptual art
piece called Vagamundo, created by Visual/Media Artist Ricardo
Miranda. He produced all the music and audio. Over the past
2 years Vagamundo has traveled to LA, Chicago and, of course.
NYC. The piece was even featured at the Re:New - Frontiers
in Creativity show at Columbia University which highlighted
works from professors and Eletronic Artists around the city.
