About Red Flavored
Records
.
In 2003, Johnny Fingers and Aaron Schumm started DJ’ing gigs together. The two realized that their sounds, although different, meshed well together. This carried over to the studio, as well. Since then, the two have collaborated on everything from DJ’ing to producing. The tracks they started putting down had a general house feel to them, but it was difficult to classify the sounds. So, instead creating tracks that conformed to a specific sound associated with a house label, Aaron and Johnny decided to start their own label. Something they could pipe their random funky tracks through. This spawned Red Flavored Records.
RFR has no bullshit mission statement. But, if you asked them what they are trying to do with RFR, they will tell you that they hope to push the boundaries of house a bit. House music is ever-evolving, so why not try to progress the evolution a bit. Johnny and Aaron also are hoping to expose some of the phenomenal, undiscovered talent in New York City and Chicago. There is so much untapped talent floating around. Aaron and Johnny hope to put a few tracks on your table that may have never gotten there otherwise.
To kick things off, Aaron and Johnny have put together the Stir
Fried EP. The 4-track album has a bit of quirk, a bit of funk, and
everything in between. If you have a some funky house projects in
the works that have a groove that will put a smile on someone’s
face, drop RFR a line at info@redflavored.com.
